Vacancy Announcement – Electrician

ABOUT US:

Amazi Water is the primary, in-country partner for clean water projects in Burundi. In collaboration with others, we are developing a national water strategy with the goal of providing sustainable access to clean water in every community by the end of 2028.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Amazi Water is currently seeking a dynamic and eager Electrician to join our Electrical Team reporting to the Technical Manager. He/she will need to support all kind of electrical installations, but mainly for installing solar systems at Amazi water boreholes all over Burundi. This includes putting up metal solar frames, installing solar panels, electrical wiring and installing submersible pumps in boreholes. Other tasks can be installing electrical systems to grid power and installing other water pumping systems and any other electrical work needed within the organization. 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze site designs,
• Implement, plan and schedule projects
• Collect data from water assessment report, drilling report, test pumping report
• Install basic mechanical structures such as metal solar frames, may include some basic concrete work
• Installation of electrical and solar pumps
• Installation of all kinds of wiring, such as underground cables, submersible cables, and domestic wiring
• Conduct basic electrical works such as installation of control panels, circuit breakers and solar panels
• Installation and maintenance on all kind of electrical equipment, such as generators, inverters, solar systems, and wiring
• Procurement of electrical, plumbing, welding, and building materials
• Follows health and safety standards of Amazi Water

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:

Educational level required:

• A2 Degree Industrial electricity and Electro-mechanical.

Skills:

• Ability to use electrical tools
• Ability to draw and read electrical wiring diagrams.

Role Specific Knowledge & Experience:

• Experience of two years in the electrical field
